Breaking Free

I am in Week 2 of the Bible Study by Beth Moore called "Breaking Free". I am joining many other woman at http://www.womensbiblecafe.com/ with this study.

I have learned a very powerful definition of captivity: "A Christian is held captive by anything that hinders the abundant and effective Spirit-filled life God planned for her." God has extended the following benefits to His Children:

1. To know God and believe Him
2. To glorify God
3. To find satisfaction in God
4. To experience God's peace
5. To enjoy God's presence

I know one thing that God keeps bringing to my attention is the fact that I do not spend much time with him on a daily basis. I pray constantly, but as far as just being quiet and letting God love on me and minister to me - I do not do that as often as I want to. No, it isn't a 'requirement' or a rule or regulation I must follow. It is a want. I want to spend more quiet and intimate time with God. Over this past year He has really shown me and helped me to understand just how much He loves all of us. and it isn't because of anything we have or have not done -- He loves us so much just because we are 'us'. The same way we love our children just because of who they are - our God loves us because we are his children.

I pray that you all had a great Thanksgiving! I will try to post often during this Bible Study. There is never enough time to do all I want to do. I'm sure everyone can relate to that.

I encourage you to join the Bible Study at http://www.womensbiblecafe.com/. you will surely be blessed!
